Influence of Citrus Rootstocks on Scion Growth, Hormone Levels, and Metabolites Profile of ‘Shatangju’ Mandarin (Citrus reticulata Blanco)

Dwarfing rootstocks are a valuable genetic resource for managing high-density plantations. The selection of the appropriate scion/rootstock combination is key to improving crop performance and sustainable production in particular environment specific training systems. ‘Shatangju’ mandarin scion cultivar grafted onto ‘Flying Dragon’ rootstock tends be dwarfing develops short stature plants. To obtain insight into potential mechanisms underlying rootstock-induced effects, we conducted trial examine influence 11 different based on their growth vigor, antioxidants, hormonal levels cultivar. phenotypic observations revealed that size reduction due lower node number, shorter internodal length, reduced trunk diameter compared with more vigorous rootstocks. Antioxidant analysis showed ’Flying ‘Trifoliate Orange’ had significantly peroxidase (POD) activity than other tested indicated there were markedly amounts abscisic acid (ABA) rootstock. In addition, trees ‘Sour Pummelo’ depicted minimum gibberellins (GA24). Moreover, several metabolites associated organic acids, flavonoids, amino alkaloids responded differently plants (dwarfing) ‘Shatang Mandarin’ (vigorous) This study concluded strong effect has been proposed improve cultivation methods.
